Accountant Search — accountants and tax services

Accountants for startups

Accountants for startups and new businesses.

Tell us where your business is and we'll introduce you to UK accountants who fit the criteria you set. Every accountant we work with is checked for their regulatory standing before we introduce them.

What a startup needs from an accountant.

  • Choosing the right structure — understand the options before you commit the business to one.

  • Registering for VAT at the right time — make the decision with your plans and circumstances in view.

  • First-year accounts and Corporation Tax — know what records and filings the business will need.

  • Payroll and paying yourself — choose a clear way to handle money from the business.

  • Getting the bookkeeping right from the start — keep records that support better decisions later.

Getting the foundations right early.

  • Correct structure and scheme choices — early decisions shape how the business handles tax and records.

  • Records that pass scrutiny later — clear bookkeeping gives you a stronger base for filings and questions.

  • Not overpaying before you need to — get advice that reflects where the business is now.

What it costs.

Company accounting support is £85pm+ and a Self Assessment return is £300 inc VAT. The exact quote depends on the work needed.

What we check before we introduce an accountant.

  • Membership of a registered body for public practice — such as ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, CIOT, AAT or CIMA.

  • A current practising certificate where the body requires one.

  • AML supervision — a named supervisor, either a professional body or HMRC.

  • Professional indemnity insurance — held for the services you provide.

We check the credentials and regulatory standing of our accountants before we introduce them. Every accountant we work with is vetted for their qualifications, membership of a registered body for public practice, and AML registration — and your details are shared only with a vetted few who fit your brief. Always confirm a firm's registration, supervision and cover directly before you appoint them.

Do I need an accountant before I trade?

Not always, but early advice can help you choose a suitable structure, understand your records and plan the first filings.

Sole trader or limited company?

When do I register for VAT?

When your circumstances make registration appropriate. An accountant can help you understand the threshold and timing for your business.
